“Yes” he was a Show Bull and “No” he hasn’t been pampered. Grand Champion Interbreed Bull in Tully and Junior Champion Interbreed Bull in Cairns at 15 mths, then back to the Bull paddock. He is wide all the way through, great across the topline and is very tidy underneath. Perfect Heifer Bull, if your after a clean sheath. Lightly prepared on Silage.

LOT 40
WARRINA BOSS (P) 19 Mths

At 19 mths he’s only a baby but we think he will impress as he matures. Perfect if you have some Heifers that need tidying up underneath and through the Head. A good Calf since birth, his bloodlines suggest he should throw some handy Calves. Lightly prepared on Silage.

Our Malanda 2018 Sale Results & Thankyou

Sincere thanks to all Buyers, underbidders, supporters and Landmark Staff for a successful 13th Annual Droughtmaster Sale at Malanda Showgrounds on the 27th January.

Our 3x Cows & calves averaged $2485 with LOT 2 topping at $2900. 3 x P.T.I.C. Cows averaged $2100 with LOT 7 topping at $2600. Special thanks to Cassie Faithful of Minbun and Tony and Ivanka McDonald for your Warrina purchases. We wish you all the best with them.

Established in 1987, Warrina's selection criteria has focused on highly fertile, medium framed, docile, polled Droughtmasters suitable for all northern conditions and markets. While concentrating on quality above quantity, Warrina Bulls are tropically adapted, easy doing, well-muscled Cattle with tidy underlines.

As the Stud is located in the Wet Tropics, where climate conditions are often extreme, replacement Females are selected on stringent fertility performance and must be able to resist waves of Tick, Buffalo Fly and thrive in Tropical conditions while still producing Progeny capable of competing favorably against the best Cattle from Subtropical and Temperate zones.

Warrina Cattle have enjoyed success in both the Sale and Show rings. Through a long term partnership with Ravenshoe State High School, Ag Dept Students have paraded Warrina Exhibits to many Breed and Interbreed F.N.Q. Championship wins.

Sire bloodlines have come from long established Studs such as Garthowen (Prentice), Huntly (Comanche), Glenavon (Cavalier), Clonlara (Vision), Wajatryn (X-Factor) and Minlacowie (Julius Ceasar). Most recently Sires have been selected from Yaralla (Muckton) and Locarno (Oombabeer) Studs. Apart from for highly desirable physical traits, we recognize that to ensure consistent quality Calves, our Sires also need to have "Depth in Breeding" going back through many generations of exceptional ancestors.

Approx. 50% to 60% of our Male Calves are kept for Sale Bulls which are mostly marketed privately, off grass, at 24 to 30 months. We believe that this best provides buyers with the peace of mind of obtaining Bulls that are truly sound, ready for work and not overfed. Occasionally Warrina Bulls are nominated for Sponsored Bull Sales in Central Qld for confirmation that our Bulls are competitive with Bulls from the big name Studs.

Enquiries are always welcome.
