2016 MALANDA DROUGHTMASTER SALE SUMMARY

FNQ Buyers & Vendors braved the very humid conditions to participate in the 12th Annual Malanda Droughtmaster Sale held on Saturday 30th January.

26 Registered Females were sold including 3 Cow & Calves. Top price Cow & Calf from Lynette Cumming “BARTLEVIEW STUD” sold for $2,200 purchased by Gary & Tracey Cook of Innisfail.

Top price Registered Heifers of $1,600 was achieved three times during the Sale. In the unjoined section , Peter Bauer & Julie Brotherton “WARRINA STUD” sold to Greg Lloyd, Yungaburra.

There were two PTIC Registered Heifers by Barry & Barb Shephard “KANBRAE STUD” which was one of the joint top price Heifers at $1,600, both were bought by John Bennett, Millaa Millaa. Volume Buyer of Register Heifers were Peter & Ann Woollett of Nardoo Station, Cloncurry who purchased 5 head all from Fred & Carmel Shephard “DINNER CREEK STUD”. Chris & Lorraine Symonds of “HIDEAWAY DOWN STUD” sold 4 Registered Heifers to $1,150 to Average $98. Three bought by Mike and Steph Daly of NATURAL TABLELANDS.

Commercial Heifers from 7 to 12 months averaged $679 and 13 to 19months Average $771.

Two Studs had Steers to sell. ‘KEL-LEE STUD” had steers 10 to 12 mths @ $850 and “STEDON STUD” had Steers 12 to 15 mths @ $860.
